Double Insulated VS Class 1 Fixtures

While you might not know what these two mean, it's important that you understand before you start buying for your home. The difference can be shocking, literally. If you choose the wrong fixture, then there is a greater chance of the light blowing and starting a fire.

In simple terms, double insulated lights have 2 layers of insulation to protect the live parts of the fixture. A second layer of security.

Class 1 lights are not safe for use in older properties WITHOUT an earthing wire.

It is possible to have your house rewired by an electrician, but this can be expensive, which is why we sell a wide range of Double Insulated lights.
