The ceiling light is one of the main focal points of a room, it's important to choose the right size of light.

A fixture that's too big will overtake the room and any other decor and a light too small will make your room look distracting.

10 feet x 10 feet or smaller, use a 17" to 20" diameter light.

12 feet x 12 feet use a 22" to 27" diameter light. 

14 feet x 14 feet, use a 24" to 32" diameter light.

For any other dimensions, add the dimensions together and the sum in the diameter needed.

eg: 13 x 15 = 28 = 28" Light Diameter

If your room is larger or longer than average, you may consider using 2 ceiling lights to ensure the room looks balanced and that you achieve the level of light required for that room.
