There are four different light bulb types.

- LED

- CFL

- Halogen 

- Smart Bulbs

When purchasing a fixture from Designer Lighting Company, the description will accurately depict the type of bub that you need for your specific appliance. 

And if you happen to miss all those opportunities, when you receive your appliance, it will be clearly stated usually on the bottom side of your product will be the fitting code.

Using a higher wattage bulb in a lower wattage lamp can cause the fixture to overhead and melt, this could potentially be a fire hazard.

There are two types of standard bulb fittings: Bayonet Cap and Edison Screw.

A Bayonet Cap uses a push and twist motion, with the standard UK size being 22mm in diameter, otherwise known as B22 or BC bulb.

The Edison simply screws into the lighting fixture. The standard UK size being 27mm in diameter, otherwise known as E27 or ES bulb.
